Captain Hanna Walton is from Vancouver, WA and commissioned in June of 2018 from Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois. She received her Bachelor’s of Arts in Sociology before earning a commission as a Transportation Officer through the Wheaton ROTC program.
Upon completion of the Basic Officer Leadership Course, CPT Walton served as the Distribution Platoon Leader in 580th Forward Support Company, 1-38 Field Artillery Regiment, 210th Field Artillery Brigade in Camp Casey, South Korea. Subsequently, she was assigned as the Executive Officer of North Bay Recruiting Company, Northern California Recruiting Battalion, in Santa Rosa, California. In July of 2022, Captain Walton attended the Logistics Captains’ Career Course in Petersburg, Virginia, and was subsequently assigned as the Battalion S4 in 404th Aviation Support Battalion, 4th Combat Aviation Brigade at Fort Carson, Colorado before taking command of F Troop, 6th Squadron, 17th Aviation Regiment. CPT Walton arrived at University of Wisconsin-Madison to serve as an Assistant Professor of Military Science in July of 2025.
Captain Walton’s military education includes Logistics Basic Officer Leader Course, Executive Officer Recruiting Course, Unit Movement Course, Operational Security Level II, and Logistics Captain’s Career Course. CPT Walton’s awards and decorations include: the Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Service Ribbon, and the US Army Basic Recruiter Badge (Silver).
