Position title: Military Science Instructor
Major Craig Giese enlisted into active duty with the US Army in 1990 as a Food Service Specialist serving three years with the 82d Airborne Division, then transferred to the Wisconsin Army National Guard. He held duties in Food Service and as a Field Artillery Cannon Crew Member before going AGR in 2002 as a Unit Supply Sergeant. He received a direct commission as a Medical Service Corp Administrative Officer while serving with the 54th Civil Support Team in 2007. He holds a Master’s of Public Administration in Emergency Management from Upper Iowa University and a Bachelors of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point. He is a graduate of the Command and General Staff College Intermediate Level Education Advanced Operations Course. Other military education includes the Medical Logistics Officer Course (70K), Medical Health Services, Plans, Operations, Intelligence, Security, and Training Course (70H), Support Operations Course, Special Victims Capability Course, ARNG Group Facilitation Course, AMEDD Officer Captain’s Career Course, and the AMEDD Officer Basic Course.
During his military career MAJ Giese deployed in support of Operation Enduring freedom (OEF) to Kunar Province Afghanistan with the 97th Agribusiness Development Team (ADT) supporting the Provincial Reconstruction Team (PRT) in 2013. MAJ Giese held positions as WIARNG Deputy State Surgeon, Medical Plans Operations and Maintenance Officer with JFHQ-WI, Company Commander with HHC 132d BSB, Training Officer with 132d BSB, and Medical Operations Officer with the 54th Weapons of Mass Destruction Civil Support Team. Most recently he was the Deputy Commander of the Wisconsin CBRNE Emergency Response Force Package (CERFP), part of the 641st Troop Command Battalion.
MAJ Giese resides in Lodi, WI with his wife Andrea, his two sons Airman First Class Trever Giese and Jonah, and his daughter Mandy.
