Adam Castillo

Sergeant First Class (SFC) Castillo is a native of Janesville, WI. He entered the US Army on February 3, 2005 as a Mortar Infantryman and attended One Station Unit Training (OSUT) at Ft. Benning, Georgia. Upon completion of OSUT, SFC Castillo was assigned to his first duty assignment at Fort Hood, TX in June of 2005. SFC Castillo has manned every position as a Mortar Infantryman from the role of Ammo Bearer to Platoon Sergeant. SFC Castillo additionally holds a secondary military occupational specialty (MOS) of Human Resources Specialist, has served as a Drill Sergeant at Fort Benning, GA, and an Observer Coach/Trainer (OC/T) at Camp Shelby, MS training and mentoring National Guard and Active components.

SFC Castillo’s notable assignments include: HHC 1-66 AR REGT FT. Hood, TX, 1-89 CAV REGT FT. Drum, NY, B Co 2-1 IN BN JBLM, WA, 2-54 IN BN FT. Benning, GA, 2-351 IN BN Camp Shelby, MS. SFC Castillo has been deployed to Iraq (3 tours) and Afghanistan (1 tour).

SFC Castillo’s military education includes the Basic Leaders Course, the Advanced Leaders Course, the Senior Leaders Course, Infantry Mortar Leaders Course, Drill Sergeant Academy, Equal Opportunity Leaders Course, Transportation of Hazardous Materials.

SFC Castillo’s awards include the Army Commendation Medal (5th Award), Army Achievement Medal (6th Award), Army Good Conduct Medal (6th Award), National Defense Service Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon (3rd Award), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (2nd Award), the Valorous Unit Award, and Meritorious Unit Commendation. He has earned the Expert Infantry Badge, Combat Infantry Badge, and the Drill Sergeant Badge. He is also a member of the Honorable Order of Saint Maurice.

SFC Castillo has been married for 4 years to his wife Anna from Sun Prairie, WI. They have 3 children: Dareon, Aiyana, and Alakai.
